2026 Endurance Group Competitive Training

This endurance training program is geared for athletes that have the fitness and strength to participate at an advanced level within a group setting.


Interested athletes attending high school in September are asked to contact

coach Justin (justin@nbltc.ca)

to discuss the minimum fitness requirements to be eligible to join this group. 


The NBLTC is also hoping to offer programs for the younger athletes, as well as those new to the sport.  Please contact coach Jan (jan@nbltc.ca) for more information.

Participation Requirements:

  • NBLTC Competitive Endurance Group membership - $300
  • Athletics Ontario membership - Price dependent on age and type of membership


Registration Process

 Join up any time over the training period 

 

  • Please fill out the Athlete Information Form.
  • Email justin@nbltc.ca             


  • REGISTRATION PROCESS WITH ATHLETICS ONTARIO
  • Athletes will be responsible for registering themselves with Athletics Ontario**


  • We suggest that you select an Athletics Ontario "Recreational/Training Athlete" membership unless you know that you'll compete at an Athletics Ontario/Athletics Canada Track & Field or Cross Country Championship - or want your upcoming performances to appear in the Athletics Canada rankings.  


  • A Training/Recreational Membership will provide us with insurance and allow you to train and compete at all competitions except for Athletics Ontario/Athletics Canada Championships.


  • You can upgrade your recreational membership anytime to a competitive membership if needed.


  •  Choose the Competitive Membership category ONLY if you want your performances to appear in the rankings and have the ability to race at Ontario or Canadian Championship events.


  • Please fill out the Power of Attorney form to allow the club to register athletes in meets and sign waivers.

Fees & Payment

  • NBLTC Endurance Group Membership fee of $300 (if you are a new member please contact coach Justin before paying this fee)
  • Covers athlete’s registration fees for all track and XC meets attended as an NBLTC athlete.
  • Allows the athlete to train with the club anytime the club is offering practices which is in May, June, July & August (Extending Track Season and/or XC Preparation) and November (Extending XC Season to compete in the AO/AC XC Meets)
  • Email money transfer the $300 registration fee to admin@nbltc.ca. 


PART A - April/May/June Technical Running Practice Schedule

 

  • Fridays - April 24th to June 12th, 2026 (no practice June 6th)
  • Chippewa Secondary School Track
  • Wednesday June 10th (field behind Memorial Gardens)
  • 3:40 pm to 5:15 pm
  • Chippewa Secondary School Track located at 539 Chippewa Street West
  • The workouts are designed for the competitive athlete to complement the training programs offered by the athlete’s schools. 
  • Attend as many practices that you can.

PART B - June Track Endurance Running Practice Schedule

  • From Monday June 8 to Thursday June 25 


  • Strength Training Sessions with Coach Jon Pratt 
  • Tuesday & Thursday from 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm 
  •  Pratt's Pro Fitness located at 1867 O'Brien Street.
  • Anyone interested in additional strength training opportunities can contact Jon at jp.ppf@hotmail.com or visit Pratt's Pro Fitness


  • Running workouts with Coach Justin Caranci 
  • Monday & Wednesday 3:30 pm - 4:45 pm (Finish time is approximate and will vary slightly).  Practices will start and finish at St. Joseph - Scollard Hall Track 675 O'Brien Street


  • Group easy run sessions with Coach Justin Caranci 
  • Tuesday & Thursday from 3:30 pm - 4:45 pm (Finish time is approximate and will vary slightly). Practices will start and finish at St. Joseph - Scollard Hall Track 675 O'Brien Street



Part C - June/July Track Endurance/XC Preparation Practice Schedule

The NBLTC will be offering a variety of training for the endurance athletes this summer to continue competing in track meets as well as prepare for XC season in the fall. 


  • Monday June 29 to Thursday July 16


  • Strength Training Sessions with Coach Jon Pratt 
  • Tuesday & Thursday from 7:30 pm - 8: 30 pm and
  •  Pratt's Pro Fitness located at 1867 O'Brien Street.

  1. District H Track Meet in Sudbury on Saturday June 13, 2026
  2. Twilight Meet #2 in Sudbury on Wednesday June 24, 2026
  3. Twilight Meet #3 in Sudbury on Wednesday July 8, 2026
  4. Legion Provincial Meet U16 & U18 - Sudbury July 10 & 11 (must be asked by the selection committee to compete in this meet, must have competed in the District H qualifier)
  5. Twilight Meet #4 in Sudbury on Wednesday July 15, 2026
  6. Twilight Meet #5 in Sudbury on Wednesday July 22, 2026
  7. Athletics Ontario U14 U16 & U18 Championships July 24-26, 2026
  8. Ontario Summer Games U14 & U16 in Waterloo July 30 - August 2, 2026  (must be asked by selection committee to compete in this meet, must have competed in the District H qualifier)

            

  • Athletes will be responsible for getting themselves to these meets and responsible for all travel related expenses. The exception is that all travel, accommodations and food will be covered for athletes that quality for the Legion Provincial meet and/or Ontario Summer Games.

 

  • We encourage families to carpool if this is an option to help reduce costs.
  • Coach Justin will be attending all of these meets to coach any endurance athletes competing.

Part E - November AOXC & ACXC Preparation Practice Schedule & Competitions

FREE for fully paid members of the Spring/Summer Endurance training group.

$25 if you were not a paid member of the Spring/Summer Endurance training group.

AOXC Competitive Membership required to compete in the AOXC or ACXC meets. You can purchase or upgrade your membership here:


  • Monday November 2 to Thursday November 12


  • Running workouts with Coach Justin Caranci (All age groups welcome)
  • Monday & Wednesday 3:45 pm - 5:00 pm (Finish time is approximate and will vary slightly).  Practices will start and finish at Memorial Gardens 100 Chippewa Street West


  • Group easy run sessions with Coach Justin Caranci (U14 and older athletes)
  • Tuesday & Thursday from 3:45 pm - 5:00 pm (Finish time is approximate and will vary slightly).  Practices will start and finish at Memorial Gardens 100 Chippewa Street West 


XC Championship Meets

  •  AO XC meet in mid November - Exact date and location to be detremined


  • AC XC meet in Quebec City on November 28 & 29, 2026
