Event Information

• Any additional information about the meets will be discussed at practices and emailed once the athlete commits to the meet.
• Spring program athletes wishing to compete in any of the following meets must inform Coach Jan by the deadline outlined for each meet.  
• The NBLTC coaching staff will enter the athletes in the events they wish to compete in.
• It is the parent’s responsibility to transport their son/daughter to the meets.

Friday May 2, 2025

• This meet begins at 3:00 pm and ends at approximately 6:00 pm. 
• It is held at the Laurentian University Track in Sudbury.
• Events  100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 3000m, Long Jump 
• Entry Deadline: Tuesday April 29, 2025

Friday May 9, 2025

• St. Joseph - Scollard Hall on Cundari Field
• High school athletes must compete for their school’s team if they are a member of their high school track & field program.
• The club’s younger athletes (grades 5, 6, 7, and 8) may compete in the Novice Category which is the youngest category in the high school age divisions (grade 9 – 14 years).  
• Novice Events:  80m hurdles, 300m hurdles, 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 3000m, Long Jump, Triple Jump, High Jump, Shot Put, Discus, Javelin, Pole Vault (open – grades 9 to 12)
• Deadline to register with Coach Jan for this meet is Monday May 5, 2025.

The Competitive Spring Program had a very successful day at the Nipissing Invitational High School Track and Field Meet.  The North Bay Legion Club registered eleven (11) athletes of middle and elementary school aged athletes to compete in the Novice Category (Grade Nine).  Congratulations to the athletes who competed:  Ayda Albert, Vanessa and Roman Aroh-Coombs, Lucy Courville, Alea Cullin, Shea and Lexi Gore, Sadie Murphy, Audrianna Pizzoferrato, Isabelle Popp, and Halle Scanlan.

The athletes accomplished seventeen (17) top 10 finishes:

1st Place

• Isabelle Popp – 80m hurdles
• Halle Scanlan – 400m
• Shea Gore – Long Jump

2nd Place

• Alea Culin – Discus
• Isabelle Popp – Triple Jump

3rd Place

• Alea Culin – Javelin
• Isabelle Popp – 100m
• Halle Scanlan – 800m

4th Place

• Vanessa Aroh-Coombs – 300m hurdles

5th Place

• Sadie Muphy – 3000m

6th Place

• Ayda Albert – 100m
• Vanessa Aroh-Coombs – 200m

Outstanding performances were accomplished by:  Vanessa Aroh-Coombs 12th in 100m, Lexi Gore 15th in Long Jump, Roman Aroh-Coombs 17th in 200m and 24th in 100m, and Lucy Courville 25th in 400m.

We will continue to train and prepare for the Royal Canadian Legion District H Meet June 21st.

• This is the primary meet we are training for.
• U16 and U18 athletes could qualify to be part of the District H Team for the Legion Provincial meet on July 11-12 in Toronto. Qualification is done by selection committee.

• U14 Events (born 2012 and 2013)

• U16 Events (born 20010 and 2011)
• 80m hurdles (women), 100m hurdles (men), 200m hurdles, 100m, 200m, 300m, 800m, 1200m, 2000m, 1500m steeple chase (no water), pole vault, triple jump, long jump, high jump, javelin, shot put, discus.  

• U18 Events (born 2008 and 2009)
• 100m hurdles (women), 110m hurdles (men), 400m hurdles, 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 3000m, 2000 steeple chase(with water), pole vault, triple jump, long jump, high jump, javelin, discus, shot put. 

• Deadline to register for this meet is Sunday June 15, 2025.

• This meet begins at 6:00 pm and ends at approximately 8:00 pm. 
• It is held at the Laurentian University Track in Sudbury.
• Events 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 3000m, Long Jump or Triple Jump 
• Entry Deadline: Monday June 24th, 2025

Friday & Saturday July 11 - 12, 2025

• This meet is being held at York University Track in Toronto at the Toronto Track & Field Centre.

Must be selected by selection committee to compete at the meet. The qualifying meet is the District H meet in Sudbury on Saturday June 14 or 21, 2025.

More information to follow about this meet as the athletes selected will travel together with Legion chaperones.

Friday, Saturday & Sunday July 18 - 20, 2025
